Cincinnati, Ohio, March 11, 2025– Today, Women Helping Women announced that it is honored to name the agency’s Survivor Equity Fund after Francie Garber Pepper, a lifelong advocate and impactful philanthropist.
“It’s an honor to name the Survivor Equity Fund after Francie Garber Pepper, and, especially, to do so during Women’s History Month. For over five decades, Francie has stood up for survivors and spoken out against violence against women. She understands that survivors are the experts of their lives. And she believes in re-imagining survivor safety by truly listening to the needs of those who have endured far too much. Her generous actions of philanthropy and constant advocacy have been truly transformational—empowering safety and security for thousands upon thousands of survivors. It is a deep honor to acknowledge her forever impact with the official naming of the Francie Garber Pepper Survivor Equity Fund,” stated President & CEO of Women Helping Women, Kristin Shrimplin.

The Francie Garber Pepper Survivor Equity Fund provides rapid emergency financial assistance to survivors of gender-based violence, including but not limited to: rental assistance, eviction prevention, utilities, relocation costs, car repairs, emergency hotel stays, lock changes, Ubers/Lyfts, immediate supplies, and other client safety supports.
The Francie Garber Pepper Survivor Equity Fund is an innovative model that is recognized nationally for its impact, rapid response and ability to meet survivors where they are at. Financial stability is critical for a survivor’s recovery, and as a woman who has always made history, Francie Garber Pepper’s leadership, investment and legacy will empower thousands and thousands of more survivors in their journey to safety and wellbeing.
